1. Why is the film different in terms of its treatment of climate change when compared with other films on the topic? Explain.
The film is different in terms of its treatment of climate change when compared with other films on the topic because it doesn’t show alarmism. The way the documentary is shown, there are no traces of panic, warn and danger. It is presented in a view of calmness unlike other films of climate change which often emphasizes the coming danger and fatality that it may cause. I have already seen a lot of documentaries about climate change and such topics and these videos often give universal conclusions that if what we don’t get to be stopped, then everything would fall into end. It has been already monotony: showing that the Earth where we live is in danger, warning and blaming the people of the world that we are the ones responsible for the fact that our world is in danger, making us aware that the Earth will soon meet its end because of US. This video is different. It showed us what the effects of climate change is but in the perspective of a positive seer. They haven’t shown the usual clips in this kind of documentaries and in the end: I haven’t felt the feeling that I usually feel whenever I see these videos: the feeling of fear. It treats climate change not as a dangerous event for the world but as phenomena just like that of the normal events that happen in our world. It has given us the effects but the blame weren’t stated to be caused by the humans since blaming for the event wasn’t part of the documentation.
2. How does the role of man fall into the overall explanation regarding climate change?
Actually, if we would view this issue as a whole and as how other films would emphasize, the role of man would surely be as the greatest factor of this event. As usual, we would be the main blame for what is happening right now in our environment. In this part, we would always be the antagonists and the destroyer of the earth. But, unlike how they have shown it in the video, the climate change that we are experiencing right now was displayed as something that of natural phenomena that hap
